Smartphones go everywhere with us. We have them while eating at restaurants, while taking public transportation, and even while we’re in the bathroom. As you might imagine, grime can start to build up quickly. Even if your phone doesn’t appear visibly dirty, there could be bacteria lurking in places you can’t see. Cleaning the phone screen
Everyone knows that water and electronics don’t mix. That makes cleaning smartphones a little trickier, but still very possible. Start by using a dry microfiber cloth first. This is the same type of cloth you’d use to clean a pair of eyeglasses. Just rub it gently across the screen to get rid of any unsightly smudges or fingerprints. Do this as often as you need to keep it looking shiny and clean.
If your phone is in need of some extra scrubbing, go ahead and use a bit of water. Make sure the phone is completely unplugged first. Also, be careful to avoid getting water in any of the openings, such as the headphone jack or charging port. Your safest bet is to pick up a special smartphone cleaning kit or some cleansing towelettes designed specifically for phones. If you don’t have either of those things, you can also make a DIY cleaning solution out of one part distilled water and one part rubbing alcohol.
Cleaning the phone accessories
When’s the last time you took your phone case off? Debris tends to collect inside the case. There’s a very good chance you’ll find some dust and dirt back there. If you went to the beach recently, you’re almost guaranteed to find sand hanging out in the crevices. So every once in awhile, take off the case and clean it, as well as wipe down the back of the phone. If you use headphones or ear buds, it’s a good idea to clean those, too, using a dry toothbrush or cotton swap.
