Want to take a photo of your screen? Here’s how.
You may have heard people use the term “screenshot” when using their cell phones. Maybe you were trying to send them information and they told you, “Just take a screenshot!” It sounds simple enough, but if you’ve never used this feature before, it can be confusing. But don’t worry; once you get the hang of it, you’ll be taking screenshots without a second thought. Below, you’ll find the official Tracfone guide for taking a screenshot with your cell phone.
How to take a screenshot with your cell phone
To take a screenshot, all you have to do is press and hold two buttons at the same time until the screen flashes. Find your phone below to see which buttons you need to press.
- iPhone 8 or earlier – Press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time
- iPhone X or later – Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same time
- Motorola, LG, ZTE – Press and hold the volume-down button and the power button at the same time
- Samsung Galaxy – Press and hold the volume-down button and the power button, or the home button and the power button, at the same time
If you have a newer Samsung Galaxy, you can also enable the convenient palm swipe feature. To enable palm swipe, go into settings. Then, you should be able to take a screenshot simply by swiping the side of your hand across the screen. It doesn’t matter whether you swipe left to right or right to left.
Why take screenshots?
Keep screenshots for personal reference or share them with friends and family.
The screenshot function is a very useful everyday tool. For example, you can use it to share error messages with tech support or take a photo of a text conversation between you and a friend. You can also use it to save important information that you want to look back on later, such as email confirmations, online coupons, inspirational quotes and images, exciting moments during games, recipe ingredients, and much more. Instead of having to sift through your email inbox or try to remember the name of a website, you can simply screenshot it and know it’s safe inside your photo gallery.
Plus, screenshots automatically save to your phone. You can keep them for personal reference or share them with others. You can also edit them by cropping, adding text, and drawing images.
